Charcter design
Here are a few examples of character designs I use or plan to use for various works. I make them in both traditional (physical) media and digital. Sometimes both.
Tuleo Rubiside ref
The first of a trio used for a number of small comics, such as : My nurtured nature , Alien affection , and Dismorphia. Tuleo is the mediator of the three between Lindell's caution and Dacha's forwardness. The animal he represents is a ruby spotted swallowtail butterfly: the "social butterfly" being on the nose while I got to experiment with a darker pallet. ironically , he feels the most alien in terms of looks.

Lindell Mallowits reference sheet
A character I have used for a number of small comics, such as : My nurtured nature , Alien affection , and Dismorphia. The animal she looks, a pomeranian dog, like is more representative of her nature and tendencies with how perceptive, loyal, ad protective she is but how shes also cautious , small, and sometimes hard to take seriously. Like your little yappy dog trying to warn you of legitimate danger. She's the fauna to Dacha's flora, with Tuleo serving as an indetween.

Dacha Franks reference
The third of my trio of characters I have used for a number of small comics, such as : My nurtured nature , Alien affection , and Dismorphia. Dacha is meant to look like that of a babies breath flower, being a sentient plant creature and all. i was mindful to show their foliage even when they have on clothes to show the viewer their true nature. It works to further compliment their relation with Lindell and her flower tattoos while Tuleo, being an insect , is usually with both. I made Dacha the most expressive out of the three.

Lynette reference
a character for a series I am planning called "Anemone blue." an anthology where the stories are interconnected. She is a member of a species I call floriens, mammalian plant hybrids that no one is sure of whichpart is the sentient part. They are somewhat obscure to the general public within said stories but seem connected to much of what goes on. The race was inspired by dryads and Anthousai nymphs of greek myth but I have added male members to them as well. Lynette is based on a brittany ray dahlia and is also a sort of "queen ant" too her colony. I wanted her coloration and build to reflect that.

lynette juarezi outfit ref
I ahve a sting love of giving my characters various outfits for differing scenes and situations, it adds to the world building and can be made simple -so you can add charaacter deoth and not overwork yourself. Lynette's wordrobe is one of my favorites because it reeks of indulgence and has a mix of royal and religious connotations here and there. She is a gal of expensive tastes and is not remotely shy.

Rozeal river-rose king reference
A rose florien featured in a few comics of mine, namely : Petals in the wind.
Much like the flowers hes made of, he comes across as soft and unassuming but his thorns hint at his potential danger if pressed. When designing characters, i start with a nude ref first to get their physique and to make drawing their clothes easier, almost like a paper doll. character references are also a chance to tell a bit about the character just in body language and expression.
